Tullameelin C. of Ireland

graveyard is surely the quintessential country protestant graveyard, as found in Ireland. There is a small church, surrounded by a gravel path, and to one side, the headstones of those interred there.
This graveyard is the burial ground for many of the Earls of Donoughmore, the Hely Hutchinsons, and their families. It is neat and well-kept.

Roman Catholic Graveyard

Tullameelin RC (Catholic) graveyard

is located about one mile off the road between Knocklofty and Newcastle village. The church building is in ruins, and heavily overgrown, but the graveyard itself is relatively clear of brambles, etc. It can be difficult to spot, as it is behind a high ditch and line of trees, on a very sharp bend. You may see a large wooden cross through the trees, but probably not in summertime.
